Dr Alex Alexander is a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based in South Brisbane (Woolloongabba) facing the Mater Hospital.
He is affiliated with the Mater Private Hospitals and is a Senior Specialist at Queensland Fertility Group (QFG)

Dr Alexander has extensive experience in all aspects of infertility and fertility treatment, including IVF, recurrent pregnancy loss, reproductive endocrinology and laparoscopic surgery, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, fibroids and cervical dysplasia and provides continuity of care to his patients from the start of their fertility journey throughout their pregnancy and beyond.
Being a father of three children, Alex understands the difference and impact fertility medicine can have on people's lives.
He is one of the few fertility specialists who still deliver their patients’ babies as he loves the joy that he sees on the couples’ faces when they hold their newborn.

Experience and Current Duties
- Experienced in high risk pregnancy, difficult births and vacuum extraction
- Special interest in laparoscopic surgery and surgical management of endometriosis, Fibroids and uterine dysfunctions
- Vaginal and uterine prolapse procedures like Pelvic floor repairs including sacrospinous colpopexy and sacral colpopexy;
- Abnormal pap smears and colposcopy
- Transabdominal Cervical Suture (TACS) for recurrent second trimester pregnancy loss.
- Undertaking duties in Obstetrics Gynaecology and IVF audit as set by the RANZCOG, and quality assurance through the perinatal mortality meetings and recommendations.
- Normal and high risk pregnancies , Dr Alexander has delivered over 3000 babies over the past 15 years.
- Recently Dr Alexander added a new procedure to his list, vaginal laser rejuvenation for the treatment of vaginal atrophy.
